Collaboration
Collaboration is central to NZSCM’s role as the leading professional body in cosmetic medicine in New Zealand.
Regulatory Relationships
We maintain strong working relationships with key regulatory bodies, including:
- The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) - our recognition as a Special Interest Group by RNZCGP defines our status and we report to them quarterly.
- Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) - sets the scope of practice for doctors in cosmetic medicine.
- Medsafe - regulates which products that are clinically proven and safe for cosmetic use.
- Therapeutic Advertising Pre-vetting System (TAPS) - provides guidance to help members meet legal and ethical advertising standards.
Professional and Academic Partnerships
We are formally aligned with international cosmetic medical societies to stay connected with best practice globally.
- Australasian Society of Cosmetic and Procedural Dermatology (ASCD)
- Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)
We host events that bring together cosmetic medicine doctors, nurses, and dentists to encourage learning and raise the standard of cosmetic care across disciplines.
